<p>A method and an apparatus for achieving a transmit diversity and a spatial multiplexing using an antenna selection scheme based on feedback information are provided to maximize a through-hole and a communication coverage by effectively utilizing communication resources in time, frequency, and space domains. An apparatus for achieving a transmit diversity in a wireless communication system includes a channel encoder, a modulator, a demultiplexer, an encoder, an IFFT(Inverse Fast Fourier Transform) unit, and an antenna selector. The channel encoder and the modulator are configured to code and modulate data streams based on feedback information. The demultiplexer is configured to demultiplex symbols using at least one encoder block. The encoder is configured to code the demultiplexed symbols, which are demultiplexed by the encoder block. The IFFT unit is configured to deform the coded symbols. The antenna selector is configured to select the antenna for transmitting the IFFF-ed symbols based on the feedback information.</p> |
