LOCATION BASED SERVICE SYSTEM AND LOCATION BASED SERVICE METHOD FOR PROVIDING SERVICE ACCORDING TO LOCATION OF MOBILE TERMINAL

A method and a system for location-based service are provided to obtain location information of mobile communication subscribers without increase in load of a home location register and a visit location register. A mobile terminal requests location registration to a BSS(Base Station System)(S301). The BSS requests the location registration of the mobile terminal to a switch/SGSN(Serving GPRS(General Packet Radio Service) Supporting Node)(S303). The switch/SGSN requests the location registration of the mobile terminal to a home location register(S305). The switch/SGSN receives a response to the location registration from the home location register(S307), and then transmits the response to the location registration to the mobile terminal via the BSS(S309,S311). The BSS extracts location information from the request for the location registration transmitted from the mobile terminal, and then transmits the location information as a location information message to an application server(S313). The application server transmits the location information message to a data collection server. The data collection server transmits the location information message to a location management server in real-time or periodically.
