An electronic watch with a power generator function is provided to prevent the electronic watch from being overcharged by using an excessive charging preventing circuit. An electronic watch(1) includes a generator(4), a charging unit(7), a counter controller(14), a time display unit, a voltage detector(71), and a discharging unit(73). The charging unit accumulates the electric energy, which is generated by the generator. The counter controller is driven by the electric energy, which is accumulated in the charging unit. The time display unit is controlled by the counter controller and displays times. The voltage detector detects the voltage of the charging unit. When the detected voltage of the charging unit reaches a first predetermined value, the discharging unit discharges the charging unit.
