A display device and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to protect a liquid crystal panel and a back light unit from external shock by forming a frame using resin having elasticity and to slim the frame corresponding to slimming of the liquid crystal panel. A display device includes a liquid crystal panel(10), a backlight unit(80) and a frame(100). The back light unit is disposed in a lower portion of the liquid crystal panel. The frame receives the liquid crystal panel and the backlight unit. The frame is formed of resin. The frame has sidewalls. Side portions of the liquid crystal panel and the back light unit are inserted in receiving grooves(150) in inner sides of the sidewalls. The resin has a silicon or synthetic resin, and the number of the sidewalls of the frame is four. The sidewalls of the frame have a square frame shape. Widths of the receiving grooves correspond to the thicknesses of the liquid crystal panel and the backlight unit. |
