<p>A method for predicting anti-depressant drug response is provided to select an anti-depressant drug suitable for a depressant patient based on the monoamine transporter gene polymorphism combination, so that therapeutic effects of depressant are improved. A method for predicting anti-depressant drug response comprises the steps of: (i) collecting a DNA sample from a patient and detecting norepinephrine transporter(NET) gene and serotonin transporter gene as a monoamine transporter gene; and (ii) identifying the norepinephrine transporter gene polymorphism G1287A, serotonin transporter gene 5-HTT promoter region polymorphism(5-HTTLPR) and 5-HTT gene intron 2 polymorphism in the detected genes, wherein a noradrenaline reuptake inhibitor(NRI) based anti-depressant drug is selected when the genotype of norepinephrine transporter gene polymorphism G1287A is GG and 5-HTT gene promoter is ss polymorphism, and a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor(SSRI) based anti-depressant drug is selected when the 5-HTT gene intron 2 is ll polymorphism and the 5-HTT gene promoter is ss polymorphism.</p> |
