A method for making a handover of a wireless packet transceiving equipment from a current to a target access network of a packet routing core network, comprises
(a) the following steps performed while the equipment is linked to the current access network:
(a1) collecting in the network second information about the target access network, the second information being network layer information,
(a2) preparing in the network handover with reference to the second information,
(b) the step of switching over the link of the wireless equipment from the current to the target access network,
(c) the following step performed while the equipment is linked to the target access network:
(c1) sending third information from the equipment to the target access network, and
(c2) completing on the side of the target access network and the core network handover with reference to the third information.
