The present invention relates to food supplements containing lipids comprising docosahexaenoic acid a docosapentaenoic acid prepared by cultivating in a medium a microorganism which belongs to the genus Ulkenia having the ability to produce lipids containing docosahexaenoic acid and/or docosapentaenoic acid and recovering the lipids from the culture wherein the lipids contain neutral lipids containing 40 to 48 percent by weight of docosahexaenoic, 8 to 13 percent by weight of docosapentaenoic acid and up to 1 percent by weight of eicosapentaenoic acid based on the total weight of the fatty acids being present or, where lipids contain triacylglycerols, which are formed by unsaturated fatty acids, only.
