<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical information reading device and system for searching a true factor leading to an analysis error, and for storing much more information than necessary one in a fixed memory. <P>SOLUTION: This optical information reading device comprises an image fetching part 1 for fetching optical information 21 attached to an article, an analyzing part 2 for segmenting a necessary part from the image stored in the image fetching part, and for binarizing and decoding the segmented image and an image information storing part 7 for storing the image information and the analytic information from the analyzing part, wherein when it is judged that any analysis error is generated by the analyzing part, the image and the analytic information is stored.
