PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an emergency cartridge that allows an ink jet recorder to continue the recording operation taking an emergency measure when one of ink cartridges becomes in an out-of-ink condition. SOLUTION: This emergency cartridge 30 is used with the ink jet recorder wherein a plurality of ink cartridges are detachably loaded thereto. The cartridge 30 is equipped with a vessel 30a having a shape and a size identical to the ink cartridge. The emergency cartridge 30 is loaded to the ink jet recorder as a substitute for an ink cartridge in the plurality of ink cartridges in which the ink is in the out-of-ink condition, and then the ink jet recorder can continue the recording operation. |
