A steam and vacuum cleaner is provided to collect fine dust through a filter which is installed in discharging grooves and open and close the discharging grooves by a filter cover, thereby reducing the discharged air speed and preventing dust splash. A steam and vacuum cleaner comprises a base assembly, a main assembly, and a neck assembly for connecting the main assembly to be turned with regard to the base assembly. The main assembly has an outlet to discharge the air which is discharged from the base assembly to the outside via the neck assembly. The outlet includes discharging grooves(730), which are formed on the main assembly, a filter which is mounted in the discharging grooves, and a filter cover for opening and closing the discharging grooves. The filter cover includes a cover plate, an engaging projection for assembling with a combining groove, and an operating part for operating the engaging projection.
