An exercise dumbbell (100) has at least one weight selector (160) that is rotatable into engagement with various combination of weights (227-229) at opposite ends of the handle (120). On a first embodiment, first and second weight selectors (160) are rotatably mounted on opposite ends of a bar (120) for independent rotation relative to the handle (120). On a second embodiment, first and second weight selectors (560) are keyed to a common bar (510) and rotated together therewith relative to the handle (510).
