1,119,445. Hearing aids. DANAVOX INTERNATIONAL A/S. 14 July, 1965 [26 March, 1965], No. 29782/65. Heading H4J. A hearing aid comprises a housing 1, 2 of non-circular section to be received in the outer ear, and an elongate container 10 also of non- circular section in which is located a receiver 8, the container 10 extending from the housing 1, 2 for insertion in the auditory canal and being mounted on the housing 1, 2 so as to be rotatable about the longitudinal axis of the container 10. A microphone 3 is resiliently held in the housing 1, 2 by foam rubber pieces 19 and has an opening 20 which communicates with a recess 22 in a wall of the base 1. A battery 4 is carried by a pivotal chamber 23. Plates 15<SP>1</SP>, 16 located in grooves in the base 1 each have a protrusion 17 or 18 which serve as contacts for the battery 4. The top 2 presses the microphone 3 into position and holds the plates 15<SP>1</SP>, 16 by means of a further plate 32. A volume control 6, 7 is cemented to the plate 32. The top 2 has a projection 33 which presses on an amplifier 5 to hold it in position. The lower part of the amplifier 5 has projecting edges which engage in grooves in the base 1 and bear on a locking button 25. The receiver 8 has a diaphragm and sound emanates from an opening 9 into an opening 11 of the container 10. The container 10 is flexible and is covered with a membrane 14 formed with a tightening ring 15. The lower part of the membrane 14 prevents foreign matter penetrating the receiver 8 and acts as a further diaphragm. The container 10 has a flange 13 and can be turned in relation to the housing 1, 2. Helical wire connects the amplifier 5 and the receiver 8. The neck of the container 10 is flexible, whereby its longitudinal axis may take up different angular positions with regard to the housing 1, 2. |
