PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive unit capable of preventing a pump cover from loosening, when a shaft rotates in a direction such that the pump cover becomes loose. SOLUTION: This drive unit 10 includes an electric motor 12; a gear pump 52 driven by the rotation of the shaft portion 34a of a main shaft 34 which rotates by driving the electric motor 12; a pump cover 58, having a through hole 58b, inserted by the shaft portion 34a for sealing the gear pump 52, by screwing a thread portion 58a mounted on the circumference into a housing 20. When the shaft portion 34a rotates in a direction where the pump cover 58 becomes loose, rotational torque acting on the pump cover 58 by driving the electric motor 12 is reduced more than when the shaft portion 34a rotates, in such a direction that the pump cover 58 becomes tight.
