PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine a posture of a shot image with a simple manner without using a posture detection sensor. SOLUTION: A face area extracting section 110 extracts a face area in a shot image and produces a binarized image with pixels of coordinates corresponding to the extracted face area being regarded as "1" and the other pixels being regarded as "0". A barycenter calculation section 120 calculates a barycenter moment of the face area on the basis of the produced binarized image. A tilt calculation section 130 calculates a tilt of the face area on the basis of the calculated barycenter moment. A histogram producing section 140 produces a histogram of image values in an x-direction and a y-direction on the basis of the produced binarized image.
