PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus capable of quickly confirming the contents of a channel-switched program after the channel switching in digital broadcasting. SOLUTION: The digital broadcast receiving apparatus starts the reception of video data and program data after channel switching instead of video data and program data being received at present before channel switching in accordance with a channel switching input, and at the time of channel switching, generates program-related picture data based on the channel-switched program data and outputs the generated data for a little while.
