PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method, a program and a unit for estimation result evaluation, enabling appropriate evaluation of the estimation results obtained by a plurality of estimation methods. SOLUTION: In regard to the cause of occurrence of an event in an object in which the event has occurred, the estimation result evaluation method for executing computer evaluation of the estimation results, estimated by the plurality of estimation methods, includes a status information acquisition procedure for acquiring a variable value indicative of the object status when the above event has occurred; a known information acquisition procedure for acquiring from a storage unit the corresponding information including correspondence between the cause of occurrence in the known case and the variable value indicative of the above object status; a similarity degree calculation procedure for calculating, for each estimation result, the degree of similarity between the variable value acquired in the above status information acquisition procedure and the variable value corresponding to the estimation result in the above corresponding information; and an output procedure for outputting the comparison result, based on the degree of similarity calculated for each estimation result.
