PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a labeling apparatus well balancing a sucked label for keeping it in a good balance and capable of sucking the label surely on a sucking plate with avoiding for an inclined posture of the label to prevent defective adhesion of the label on an article. SOLUTION: The labeling apparatus includes the sucking plate 11 to suck the label L delivered from a label delivering part and a press roller 20 which is provided on the outside of the tip part 11a of the sucking plate 11 and opposes to the end part La of the label L at the sucking position of the sucking plate 11 and presses the end part Lb of the label L on the article at the advanced position of the sucking plate 11, wherein the label delivering part is provided so that the delivering direction Q of the label L is orthogonal to the transfer direction of the article and the sucking face 13 of the sucking plate 11 is formed having a smaller predetermined vertical width G than the width F of the label in the front and back direction P orthogonal to the delivering direction Q of the label L and also is provided at a position corresponding to the center part Lb in the front and back direction orthogonal to the delivering direction Q of the label L to be sucked.
