<p>An ink jet printer device is provided for making it possible to substitute for a lost dot due to a malfunction nozzle by using an ordinary head scan without carrying out a nozzle substituting scan. A printer (102) provided with a printing head to which nozzle identification information is given in advance and in which a plurality of nozzles to jet ink dots and one or plurality of ink colors are set, makes the printing head scan in a direction intersecting a printing medium forwarding direction as well as the printing head jet ink dots. In the printer (102) that carries out printing, a band memory (107) stores image data of a printing subject; a malfunction nozzle substitute data generating unit (201) generates image data as substitute data for a nozzle other than a malfunction nozzle to carry out the substitute printing for the malfunction nozzle in regard to a printing dot of the malfunction nozzle and its surrounding dots in accordance with printing rule information, the image data to be stored in the band memory (107), and the nozzle identification information of the malfunction nozzle, and writes the generated substitute data in the band memory (107).</p> |
