<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To isolate and refine an effective component contained in a bubble component of Jumbo leek, to determine its chemical structure, to clarify its action mechanism, and to provide various medicines or functional food using the compound. <P>SOLUTION: An epigallocatechin derivative isolated from a bubble component of Jumbo leek, a salt thereof, a catechin glucoside, and a mixture of catechin derivatives comprising two or more of the compounds are disclosed.
