<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remote controller capable of denoting an operable button and an inoperable button when a change in operability and inoperability of a button has occurred which is attributable to a difference in processing state. <P>SOLUTION: A processing state of the video processing device is periodically checked using a processing state checking unit for checking the processing state thereof. Then, in the processing state checked, a remote control code receivable by the video processing device from the remote controller is discriminated. For the discrimination, a remote control code management table is employed in which processing states and receivable remote control codes have been preliminarily associated with one another and have been recorded. A receivable information transmitting unit transmits information denoting remote control codes discriminated to be receivable to the remote controller by using a signal transmitting unit.
