GENETIC SEQUENCE ENCODING FLAVONOID PATHWAY ENZYME AND USE THEREOF

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a genetic sequence encoding a flavonoid-3'-hydroxylase efficiently modulating hydroxylation of a flavonoid compound in a plant, a genetic sequence encoding a flavonoid-3'-hydroxylase efficiently modulating production of 3'-hydroxylated anthocyanin in the plant and to provide use thereof.

SOLUTION: A genetic sequence encoding a flavonoid-3'-hydroxylase is identified and cloned. The recombinant genetic sequence enables modulation of a gene encoding the enzyme by new expression, excessive expression, suppression, antisense inhibition, ribozyme activity, etc.
