<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safe and efficient rental service providing server computer, and a program and a method therefor. <P>SOLUTION: In the rental service providing method using a network-connected computer, when an application containing a user ID and a commodity code is received, the user ID is set to rental user information (S2), and when the commodity of the received commodity code is a deposit object, a receiving mail containing a transfer account of a deposit is transmitted to the user (S2). After transfer of deposit is completed (S4), a shipping request mail of the commodity is transmitted to an exhibitor (S5). When the commodity is returned from the user, a return completion flag is set to a predetermiend value (S9), and when the commodity is received by the exhibitor, a receipt completion flag is set to a predetermined value (S9).
