PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for setting a drive signal, which is used for setting the drive signal suitably corresponding to characteristics of a nozzle. SOLUTION: D/A converters 31A to 31D selectively supply one of drive signals generated respectively for each nozzle, measure the discharge amount and set the drive signal of a suitable condition on the basis of the measured discharge amount. When the discharge amount is measured, the number of nozzles to which the drive signal is supplied from one of the D/A converters 31A to 31D becomes almost equal to that of nozzles, so that current capacity in supply lines of the generated drive signals is equalized to one another.
