PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control method of an automatic page turning device which performs turning motions more stably. SOLUTION: The control method of an entry printer 1 which turns pages of a passbook P has the step 1200 of making a turning roller 10 come into contact with one end of the passbook P in the state that the other end of the passbook P is fixed is rotated in the direction A corresponding to the direction FI of carrying in, so as to raise a target page T of the passbook P, the step 1300 of rotating the roller 10 further in the direction A by a preset amount so as to raise a next page N positioned under the target page T and thereby to make the target page T leap up off the roller 10, and the step 1400 rotating of the roller 10 in the direction B corresponding to the direction FO of carrying out, opposite to the direction A, in the state that the other end of the passbook P is fixed, so as to put the target page T on the roller 10.
