Provided are a rotation detection device having a simple structure and highly accurately detecting an absolute angle, and a bearing provided with the rotation detection device. The rotation detection device (1) includes concentrically provided ring-shaped magnetic encoders (2A, 2B) having magnetic poles of different numbers, and also includes magnetic sensors (3A, 3B) for respectively detecting magnetic fields of the magnetic encoders (2A, 2B). The magnetic sensors (3A, 3B) have a function of detecting information on a position in the magnetic poles of the magnetic encoders (2A, 2B). The rotation detection device further has phase difference detection means (6) for obtaining a phase difference between magnetic field signals detected by the magnetic sensors (3A, 3B), and also has angle calculation means (7) for calculating the absolute angles of the magnetic encoders based on the detected phase difference. |
