The present invention relates to a device and a method for determining a fill level and a temperature of a fluid. In order to provide an even more compact device and more efficient measuring method, it is proposed that a sensor current (U<SUB>mess</SUB>) and a measurement current (I<SUB>mess</SUB>) are measured before and after heating of the heating filament (21) brought about by a current (I<SUB>heiz</SUB>) in order to calculate the electric resistance (R).
