The multi-stage transmission has a drive (An) and an output (Ab), which are arranged in a housing (G), four planetary gear sets (P1,P2,P3,P4), seven rotating shafts (1,2,3,4, 5,6,7) and five switch elements (03,04,05,17,57), having brakes and clutches. The clutch of the shaft is connected with the shaft in detaching manner. The former shaft is connected with the seventh shaft or the sixth shaft is connected with the seventh shaft in detaching manner.
