<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bearing system wherein lubrication performance is maintained over a long period. <P>SOLUTION: Lubricating oil for a self-aligning roller bearing 12 is stored in a housing. The inside diameter ϕS of seal lips 13a, 13b is made smaller than ϕP of PCD of the self-aligning roller bearing 12. As a result, the lubricating oil stored in the housing leaks outside between the seal lips 13a, 13b and a roller 4. Thus, the level of the lubricating oil remains unchanged, and the self-aligning roller bearing 12 is lubricated in the same conditions. The inside of the housing is pressurized by gas supplied from a lubricating-oil supply device. Since the pressure in the inside across the seal lips 13a, 13b is higher than the pressure outside, the entry of the extraneous matters from outside is efficiently inhibited. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
