<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus where developer adhering and remaining on the inside of a developer container is reduced. <P>SOLUTION: The developer container to contain the developer to be used for the image forming apparatus is equipped with a developer containing portion 28 in which the developer is contained and which is equipped with an opening portion 34 for supplying the developer to the image forming apparatus, and a shutter member 29 opening/shutting the opening portion. The shutter member 29 is equipped with a first sliding portion 37 sliding with the developer containing portion 28 with the opening/shutting operation. The developer containing portion 28 is equipped with a second sliding portion 30 sliding with the first sliding portion 37 of the shutter member 29.
