PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode protection film of a display element by which an electrode is not sulfurized even when calcined at high temperature in hydrogen sulfide atmosphere. SOLUTION: This is an electrode protection film which is installed on the surface of at least one of an electrode layer of an electroluminescent element having a pair of electrode layers. The protection layer is a barium titanate film formed by coating and calcining a composition which contains at least an octyl acid metal compound having octyl acid Ba and octyl acid Ti as a main component, a binder, and a solvent on the surface of the electrode.
