<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce height and improve impact resistance. <P>SOLUTION: The linear actuator (20) has: a lens movable part (32) including a lens holder (321) movable in the direction of the optical axis (O) of the lens relative to a base part (21); and a lens driving section (34) for driving the lens movable part. In the linear actuator (20), the base part (21) has a plurality of main shafts extending parallel to the direction of the optical axis of the lens. The lens driving section (34) has: a plurality of piezoelectric units (341); and vibrating frictional part (342) slidably disposed on the plurality of main shafts and having an internal circumferential face (342a) accommodating the lens movable part. The lens movable part (32) is disposed between the lens holder and the internal circumferential face of the vibration frictional part, and includes a plurality of pads (322) frictionally connected with the internal circumferential face of the vibration frictional part.
