<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus, wherein even if the edges of a cleaning blade are worn with the lapse of time and the contact area of the same with an image carrier is widened, blade curling is hardly caused and stable quality can be maintained over a long period, at a low cost. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus has a plurality of image carriers 1, a lubricant application device A7 provided at the first image carrier Al installed on the upstream side viewed from the transferring direction of a developer, and a cleaning blade A61 installed in a counter system at each image carrier A1 on and after the second one installed on the downstream side, wherein the lubricant application region is wider than the effective cleaning region A63 in the cleaning blade A61. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
