PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a television receiver with a guidance function of which the usage is urged by a simple operation. SOLUTION: A digital broadcast receiver A includes a function using state judgement part 17. The function using state judgement part 17 judges whether to present OSD display, etc., about functions in a display part 12 and what type of presentation to be performed when presented on the basis of a function, information about a user and a using state in cooperation with, for example, a control part 5. The function using state judgement part 17 is associated with a user information database 21b and the number of guidance using times database 21c in each user, and the number (frequency) of each function using times storing part (in each user) 21a which are a database stored in an EEPROM 21. A ROM 23 has a function priority (basic) database 23a and a function database 23b for storing types (items) of functions, and the databases are also associated with the function using state determining part 17.
