<p>The method involves placing an airbag (4) on a base. Two catch are aligned to each other in an angle. A linear side edge (5) of the airbag is aligned at the former catch. The linear side edge is displaced over a slider mechanism in the direction of the former catch and over another slider mechanism in the direction of the latter catch. The latter slider mechanism proceeds as a function of the desired expansion direction of the airbag in an angle between 20 degrees and minus 10 degree to the former catch from the latter catch. An independent claim is also included for an airbag, particularly side impact airbag.</p>
