CATALYST FOR DECOMPOSING ORGANIC NITROGEN COMPOUND AND METHOD FOR TREATING ORGANIC NITROGEN COMPOUND

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst for decomposing an organic nitrogen compound which can efficiently decompose the organic nitrogen compound such as trimethylamine in exhaust gas into nitrogen while keeping the by-production of NOx or N2O of air pollutants as low as possible and to provide a method for treating organic nitrogen compound-containing exhaust gas by using the catalyst for decomposing the organic nitrogen compound.

SOLUTION: The catalyst for decomposing the organic nitrogen compound is obtained by depositing manganese of 0.5-60 wt.% of the total amount of the catalyst for decomposing the organic nitrogen compound on a carrier consisting of zeolite having ≥10 SiO2/Al2O3molar ratio. Organic nitrogen compound-containing exhaust gas is brought into contact with the catalyst for decomposing the organic nitrogen compound so that the organic nitrogen compound in the exhaust gas is oxidized, decomposed efficiently and removed.
