<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the flexibility in design by enabling an outer surface of a cover to get closer to a door side in a portion corresponding to a first partition wall, in the case of an outer handle device of a door for a vehicle, in which a storage recess opened on a cover side is formed between the first and second partition walls of a handle body, in which a potting agent for embedding an electric component housed in the storage recess is infilled into the storage recess, and in which a lead wire connected to the electric component is guided to the outside from the handle body on the other side of the storage recess with respect to the first partition wall. <P>SOLUTION: An elastic member 37 with a holding hole 36 is mounted on the first partition wall 24A by positioning the holding hole 36 on the other side of the cover 19 with respect to a finished surface 40 of the potting agent 32, and avoiding the protrusion of the elastic member 37 to the side of the cover 19 from the first partition wall 24A.
