<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device which can supply an efficient and stable quantity of laser light by making uniform the temperature of the entire wavelength conversion element, and also an illumination device, a monitor device, and an image display device, each using the light source device. <P>SOLUTION: The light source device comprises an exciting laser 11 and a laser crystal 13 as a light source section for supplying laser light, an SHG (Second-Harmonic Generation) element 14 as a wavelength conversion element for converting the wavelength of laser light received from the light source section, and a temperature adjusting section for adjusting the temperature of the wavelength conversion element.
