PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a purification method of soil and ground water capable of efficiently, continuously and economically treating an organohalogen compound in soil and ground water, especially a hardly decomposable aliphatic or aromatic organohalogen compound using an iron composite particle. SOLUTION: This noble metal-carrying metal iron particle used for the purification of soil and ground water polluted with the organohalogen compound is composed of a metal iron particle with an average particle size of 1.0-100μm and a powder pH of 7-11 and at least one kind of a noble metal selected from ruthenium, rhodium and palladium and the content of the noble metal is 0.01-0.5 wt.%.
