PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle position detection system, on-board equipment and vehicle position detection system capable of precisely detecting the position of the vehicle. SOLUTION: An on-board equipment 30 receives every communicating position, its error range, and position of stop line of respective on-road equipments 21, 22 and 23 by communicating with a light beacon 10, stores the received information and at the same time starts to measure the travelling distance, and repeatedly estimates the vehicle position at each prescribed time elapsed. The on-board equipment 30 acquires the position of communication and the error range by communication with the on-road equipments 21, 22 and 23, the estimated value of the vehicle position estimated just before the communication time is updated so as to minimize the estimated error of the position of the vehicle based on the error range of the communication spot and error range of the travel distance.
