PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toner image transfer device designed so as to transfer a toner image from a toner image carrier to a recording medium, easily separate, even a recording medium such as thin paper from the toner image carrier, when conveying the recording medium, and to smoothly convey even a recording medium that is stiff like cardboard, and to provide an image forming apparatus. SOLUTION: A recording medium sucking means is disposed at the exit of a transfer section. In addition, a suction control means is provided for exerting control, such that a sucking position is moved according to the characteristics, such as thickness, of paper, which is a recording medium.
