PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering device to be able to prevent noise from occurring. SOLUTION: A speed reducer 14 contains a pinion gear 17 and a reduction gear 18 engaging with each other. The pinion gear 17 is formed in the midportion of a spindle 23. A damping roller 15 for preventing the noise from occurring in the speed reducer 14 is fixed to one end surface 18a of the reduction gear 18. The damping roller 15 has a resin member 22 elastically pressed against a barrel-shaped pressing portion 27. The average outer diameter of the pressing portion 27 is made equal to the pitch circle diameter of the pinion gear 17. The resin member 22 and the pressing portion 27 are functioned as a friction wheel so that the pinion gear 17 and the reduction gear 18 can be prevented from colliding with each other in each tooth flank. Since the pressing portion 27 has a barrel shape, the damping roller 15 is improved in assembly workability. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
