CATALYST FOR CLEANING EXHAUST GAS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid a large decrease of the oxygen occluding function of a CeZr-based double oxide even if the quick rise of a catalyst temperature by the oxidation combustion heat of an exhaust gas by ozone occurs in a system for cleaning the exhaust gas feeding ozone to the catalyst at a low temperature.

SOLUTION: The CeZr-based double oxide and an alkali earth metal are separated each other, the former is installed on the upper side of a catalyst layer 22 and the latter is installed on the lower side of the catalyst layer 23.
