<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical element package which can remedy the rigidity deficiency of an optical element while suppressing an increase in the thickness of a liquid crystal display device or a deterioration in the display characteristics of the liquid crystal display device, and to provide a backlight and a liquid crystal display device each equipped with the same. <P>SOLUTION: The optical element package is provided with one or two or more optical elements, a support which supports the one or two or more optical elements, and a package member which wraps the one or two or more optical elements and the support. The support has an incident surface on which the light from a light source is made incident and an exit surface which emits the light incident from the first surface toward a liquid crystal panel.
