PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display panel improved in bright room contrast ratio by placing hues, which are in a complementing color relation, within the display. SOLUTION: The plasma display panel includes: a front substrate 110 and a rear substrate 120 which are arranged to face each other; barrier ribs 124 which are arranged between the substrates 110, 120 and divide a plurality of discharge cells S; and a phosphor 125 which is coated inside the discharging cells S. The front substrate 110 is colored in a first hue, and the phosphor 125 is colored in a second hue which is in a complementing color relation with the first hue. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
