PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for purifying a poly 3-hydroxybutyrate-based polymer, by which the poly 3-hydroxybutyrate-based polymer excellent in color tone is obtained. SOLUTION: The method for purifying the poly 3-hydroxybutyrate-based polymer is characterized by putting poly 3-hydroxybutyrate-based polymer particles having a bulk density of 0.1 to 0.5 g/ml, a median size of 30 to 500μm and a melting point of≥165°C and at least one solvent selected from the group consisting of methanol, ethanol and tetrahydrofuran in a container having a stirrer and then stirring and washing under conditions comprising a peripheral speed of 30 to 300 m/min, a washing temperature of 20 to 80°C, and a liquid depth(H)/stirring tank diameter (D) of 0.35 to 3.
