The distance between the blade-guiding element and the first end of the conveying element is shorter than the length of the blades and longer than about half the length of the blades so that the blade-guiding element forms a stop for the blades momentarily present on the first end of the conveying element. u Preferred Features: Each continuous conveying element is a chain and the deviating devices each have a number of coaxial chain wheels. The blade-guiding element is made of or coated with a material having a low sliding friction coefficient with the blade material. At least one of the deviating devices is coupled to a current generator.
