The front support has rollers (1,2), where one roller is stationary and other is movable in stretching direction during stretching process. The rollers are released at their ends for applying and removing the continous web before or after the stretching.The front support (16) in a non-operative position releases an end of the stationary roller, and in the operative position supports the stationary roller. An independent claim is also included for lifting and lowering a front support.
