A light shielding apparatus for a key panel and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to shield light lost through end portions to improve the brightness of a keypad by using a light source with low luminance, thereby improving the efficiency of the light. A light shielding apparatus(100) for a key panel includes a metal dome sheet(20), a wave guide sheet(40), and a shielding member(51,52). The metal dome sheet has metal domes for switching. The wave guide sheet is installed in the upper part of the metal dome sheet to form the wave guide path of light, change the proceeding direction of the light, and transfer the light to a keypad(30) installed in the upper part of the metal dome sheet. The shielding member is installed adjacently to the end portion of the wave guide sheet to shield the light lost through the end portion of the wave guide sheet. Spacers(24) are installed in the metal dome sheet to fix the wave guide sheet so that the wave guide sheet maintains in parallel. The spacers are boned with the wave guide sheet. Bonding ink is printed on at least one of the spacers. |
