<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve reproducibility of an edge pattern even when detection precision of the edge pattern from an adjacent area is low. <P>SOLUTION: A concealment unit 300 detects the direction of a dominant passing a missing pixel position P(i, j) based upon a gradient vector and selects a pair of boundary pixels Pa1 and Pa2 disposed on the straight line of the edge. Further, pairs of boundary pixels Pb1 and Pb2, and Pc1 and Pc2 present within a range of an angle or pixel positions specified with a threshold are selected from a plurality of pairs of boundary pixels disposed in a circumference of the pair of boundary pixels Pa1 and Pa2. Difference values among the selected pairs of boundary pixels Pa1 and Pa2, Pb1 and Pb2, and Pc1 and Pc2 are calculated respectively to select a pair of boundary pixels having a minimum difference value, and a pixel value for interpolating the missing pixel P(i, j) is calculated based upon the pixel values of the selected pair of boundary pixels and distances d1 and d2 to the missing pixel P(i, j). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
