PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering device capable of suppressing an impact applied when reaching the steering limit and enhancing the mountability on a vehicle. SOLUTION: The electric power steering device has an electric power steering unit 4. The electric power steering unit 4 comprises a torsion bar 40, a motor 41, a reduction gear 42, a steering shaft twist direction detection device 43, a steering limit detection device 44, and a motor control circuit. The components of the electric power steering device unit 4 are integrated around a housing 45. The motor control circuit stops the motor 41 based on the result of detection of the steering limit detection device 44 when the rotational angle of a wheel 53 fitted to a tire 52 exceeds a predetermined angular range. Thus, the impact applied when reaching the steering limit can be suppressed, and the mountability on a vehicle can be enhanced. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
